Adhering to the strict Code of Ethics and Practice, I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with over 12 years experience in working with individuals, couples, and families, all with a wide range of life difficulties and challenges. These include dealings with

Each client is treated as a unique individual, and is given assistance to work through their difficulties, such that they are left with the knowledge and assurance that meeting their needs is my absolute priority. I have board experience of working with clients from diverse backgrounds, teenagers and young people, and also with individuals working in the Private and Public sectors within the NHS.

Working with couples and families, my aim is to help them understand more deeply the dynamics between their personalities and others, along with the differences in their beliefs and values as they face the challenges and transitions in keeping relationships alive.

I offer flexible sessions (evenings, weekends and periodic daytime) and also long or short term sessions dependant on the individual situation or preferences.

My work is informed by my Psychodynamic approach – working with unresolved issues of the client’s past and helping them become more aware of how these can affect and influence their present lives and the change that can be achieved through this awareness. It is also further complemented by other integrative approaches: to include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existential, and humanistic approaches, in order to optimize the most effective therapeutic outcome in helping clients to feel more empowered and able to better function and overcome their difficulties. Using CBT my emphasis is to help clients learn new skills to identify and alter unhelpful thoughts, modify beliefs, reframe behaviours, in order to gain more effective and different ways of relating to others and dealing with challenging situations so as to feel happier and more fulfilled in life
