My aim as a therapist is to help you unlock your potential and discover the life you want to live.
I work in an integrative and holistic way, which means I draw upon a range of therapy styles and techniques and choose the approach best suited to your situation.
I can work in English or Arabic.
I offer one-to-one therapy with adults, children and young people. I also offer couples counselling.
Full confidentiality applies.
I was born in Saudi Arabia, where I studied and worked in a variety of professions before moving to the UK in 2007. I have been involved with counselling and psychotherapy since 2012, training and building my practice while working with people from all backgrounds and cultures.
How I work
I work in a variety of styles, adapting to your circumstances. As well as providing a safe place to talk, we can use creative techniques, such as art therapy, or calming techniques, such as mindfulness and meditation. I invite feedback so we can find out what works best for you.
I have experience of working with people from all walks of life.
My aim is to offer a comfortable space in which you can explore any aspect of life that might be impacting on your wellbeing. You might like to explore work issues, relationships, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, anger, sex, gender, self-harm, addiction or traumatic experiences. Or you might want to undertake a general review your life because you have a sense you would like something to change.
Whatever you would like to explore, my belief is that therapy can help you grow in awareness so you can find a way to make a change.
I see therapy as a journey in which I am your companion, helping you to look at how things are going and to consider new directions.
Arabic language: It can be helpful to have therapy in your first language. As well as being able to use words you are familiar with, I understand the cultures and customs of the Middle East – and have personal understanding of what it means to be a Middle Eastern person living in the UK.
LGBT: I have extensive experience of working with the LGBT community. Any issue around gender or sexuality can be explored frankly and fully, without fear of judgement.
Please call or email to ask any questions or to arrange an initial consultation.
The first step is to arrange a time and venue for an initial appointment, with no obligations. This is a chance for me to find out more about your situation and for you to ask any questions you might have.
We will discuss practical arrangements, such as time and frequency of appointments (I mostly offer counselling on a weekly basis at a set time and venue). The Equilibrium Therapy Centre in Southfields is conveniently located only 8 minutes away from the Southfields Tube station. Parking is also available on the road.
There is no limit on the number of appointments – we can review as we go along. For some, six appointments might be enough to make significant progress with a specific issue. For others, longer-term therapy is helpful for looking at their life situation as a whole.
